“Urban Paradise” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – By far the coolest property on the tour… Located on a road that most people probably have no idea exists… The tour guide should have a disclaimer to visit this house last… The first time we visited this house… I was basically speechless… It never seems to lose that effect…

“Seriously Woman” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – Chickens are always interesting animals to observe… Gregory Peck… The fellow of the coop… Rarely took his eyes off of me… But… He always posed for the camera…

“Disgustingly Pink” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – I am a sucker for pale pink roses… Apparently… I am not the only one… This one is like a vortex… I could be hypnotized by looking into this… And the scent… Best of show…

“Coop De Choder” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – I think people have the wrong idea when it comes to chicken coops… Some of the coops on the tour could arguably be considered nicer than some of the houses in my neighborhood… This coop has 3 bedrooms… 1 1/2 baths… Modern kitchen with all the amenities… Located in a spacious run… Sort of a chicken subdivision…

“Chicken Eye View” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – As you can tell from the photo… I got all up in this coops business… And can honestly tell you… It does not smell like you would think a chicken coop would smell… Not quite a fine wine… But it is not a nuisance…

“Marigold” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – Choderwood is much more than simply chickens… It is a riverfront property with incredible views of the Allegheny River… I would argue that it is one of the best urban gardens in the City… Probably in my top 5… And that is saying a lot… Especially since the top 2… Are my own…

“Daring Chicken” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – I can’t show you photographs of a cock… And not show any ladies… This girl got close enough for me to snap a clear close-up… All the while… Gregory Peck was eyeing me up from his entourage of ladies…

“Well Hello” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – I could spend an entire day in this garden and not be happy photographically… Every time I turned around I gasped… If it were not for my dead camera battery… I may not have ever left…

“White Astilbe” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – I have only recently started appreciating Astilbe… Plantings like this though… I believe this could inspire anyone to try planting Astilbe in their own garden…

“Mother Quackers” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – Among the gardens and chickens… You may spy a few ducks… Though they are quite shy… Wherever I went… They moved to the opposite side… But I managed to get a few good shots…

“Gregory Peck” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – Because he is basically a celebrity… The entire time I was in the coop… This is basically how he looked… One eye… Directly on me… I think this must be his battle stance…

“Bleeding Eyes” – © chriscondello 2013 – Highland Park – Pittsburgh, PA – And with that… I conclude my 4 part photographic journey through the gardens and chickens coops of Pittsburgh… I hope you enjoy it… And I hope next year… You will consider taking the tour yourself… Until next post…
