Tonight

“Accident in Primary” – My Pocket – A simple cell phone photo I apparently shot in my pocket… I liked it enough to use it… Unedited…

Tonight… The winter fog slowly settles on my sleepy street…
The only thing louder than my heartbeat
The sound of silence… Stifling…
Distant felines screeching and crying…

With a steady pace I cut through the fog…
Rain drops falling so I start to jog…
Through the puddles I feel the cold…
Dreaming of you gives me a warming soul…

Tonight… The clouds must be especially sleepy…
Purposely making the landscape look creepy…
Looking at the cold midnight sights…
Orange ambience of the urban street lights…

Tonights slight breeze smells of the snow…
Cutting through the rain showers so slow…
Cutting through the cold air…
And cutting sharply through my mind…

Urban life is really something special…
Wildlife… Those living the wild life…
Houses packed like books on a shelf…
Side by side… Like volumes in a series…

Each one is similar… Yet completely different…

Memory Sparked – Memory Revealed

Have you ever been reminded of something that you just couldn’t put your finger on? I was trying to photograph an approaching storm the other day, but I was constantly interrupted by blue and red busses flying passed my head… When I came home to check out my photographs… I immediately remembered what it was […]

Weekly Photo Challenge – The Hue of You

This gallery contains 2 photos.

If you are familiar with my blog… Then you are familiar with these photographs… Taken in April and May of this year… The top one is my self-portrait… Taken in the alley behind my house… I was simply attempting to photograph colored puddles… When I went to step over a puddle I noticed my silhouette… […]

“Black and Gold Landscape” – Frick Park – Pittsburgh, PA

This photo is a combination of black and yellow food coloring strategically released into a section of Nine Mile Run in Frick Park… The water was surprisingly clear… So I added dye… As the dye slowly crept through the water I watched my landscape appear in the reflection before my very  own eyes…

This photo had only been rotated 180 degrees… Absolutely no color edits were performed… Only black and yellow food coloring…

Naked

“Running Exposure” – © chriscondello 2013 – Whitney Avenue – Wilkinsburg, PA – 16 Second exposure… And 4 of my favorite spots in the garden… No edit…

Sitting Quietly… Waiting for this rain shower to pass…
Unwrapped and naked… Exposed to the world…
Exposed to you… My friend…
Exposed to the elements that fall from the blue…

Naked is nothing more than a frame of mind…
A state of well being… Being well…
Away from the constant social lies…
Awake to the light before our very own eyes…

Our souls are like the flame of a candle…
Flickering in the steady wind…
If you go out… I’ll spare my last match…
I’ll spare my last match…

24 Hours – Summer Solstice

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

“Sapphire Blue” – © chriscondello 2013 – Whitney Avenue – Wilkinsburg – Summer has finally arrived… Accordingly… We all celebrate the day… But to be completely honest… The first day of Summer was hot and humid… But the first evening of Summer was magical…

The orange glow of the street lights…
Compliments a sapphire blue sky…
Signs that spring has come and gone…
Out with the fireflies…

The air is fresh… Crisp and clean…
thought so pure… Atmosphere serene…
It’s really a great day to be alive…
My church involves the daily sunrise…

Summer comes but a few times a life…
Yet most of us spend it working for strife…
Only a few know how to let it all go…
Happy thoughts make my mind grow…

It’s only when that evil thought creeps in…
A foul mouth but a pretty grin…
Like a stray cloud on a sunny day…
Raindrops when you want to play…

But today we celebrated a friend…
Who’s life has come to a tragic end…
One who would want us all to succeed…
He would expect us all to do good deeds…

When I started this poem the air was cool…
Tonight my sweat is collecting in a pool…
Mosquitos keep buzzing passed my ears…
The neighbors are out grinding each others ears…

Beer bottles shatter in the street…
And then the sound of running feet…
Damn… This is a great night to be alive…
Tomorrow I’ll celebrate with my daily sunrise…

And for all my friends that no longer see…
Yet every one would expect us to be…
Awake to see the sun rise and set…
And let go of all our fucked up regrets…

Dedicated to my friend Matt Thomas… Who was a man of leisure… And a man of summer… And a man that just wanted his friends to be happy and enjoy life…
